![]() (ships though are pretty nice though if you happen to have a lot of lowbies on board, since ship-weapon damage is the same regardless of who is shooting, and some of the status-effect cannon balls can be useful in lowbie hands). Since ships are nearly useless for actually shooting other players (they deal siege damage which deals crap damage to players but very high damage to ships/buildings), most people despawn their ships when combat starts, since they're actually pretty fragile and the bigger ones require fairly expensive items to replace, which have high alchemy proficiency requirements to make.so it's possible they might not even be available for a month or so after the game fully launches). The increased distance to fall without damage the Firran get is the closest thing to a genuinely powerful PVP abilities, since you can't lower your glider altitude very easily/quickly, and they can fall 10% further before they start taking damage.Ĭlimbing is basically useless, unless you're attacking a Nuian-style battleship (can never remember the name) since you can climb up to the crows nest and wail on enemies while they're stuck on the pole.though that assumes they didn't just despawn their ship. The building benefit though is undermined by the fact that you rarely build anything, unless you're just constantly helping guildies build houses and ships. The Nuian bonus is the most leveling friendly, since it allows you to bounce back quickly if you happen to die. IMO, the Recall cooldown is the best racial of the whole bunch, if you pick a good spot recall to, in terms of time-saved. (the biggest perk is stealing gathering/ore/lumber nodes from Firran gatherers in the wild). Harani do make the best farmers/ranchers though, without question, though in the greater scheme of things it really doesn't matter that much. (The Air-pack from a ship, and Dive Helm both increase underwater breathing time (10 minutes for the pack, 1 minute for the helm), and the Swim fins increase swim speed by 30%). Anyone can get underwater treasures, Elves can just potentially hold their breath 20 seconds longer and swim 10% faster after all other bonuses are considered.
